Royal Monastery of Santa María de la Valldigna

Our first destination is the impressive Real Monasterio de Santa María de la Valldigna, founded in the late 13th century.

Set beneath the surrounding mountains, the monastery was once one of the most important Cistercian religious complexes in the region.

Take your time exploring its monumental spaces, historic church, cloisters, ancient walls and remains of monastic buildings while discovering the story of the monks who lived here for centuries.

The setting is calm and atmospheric, making it a complete contrast to the dramatic castle that awaits later in the day.

This is not a quick photo stop.

We allow plenty of time to walk through the complex and experience the monastery at a relaxed pace.

Continue to Historic Xàtiva

After leaving Valldigna, we continue towards Xàtiva, one of the most historic towns in the Valencia region.

Surrounded by mountains and dominated by its enormous castle, Xàtiva has played an important role in Valencian history for centuries.

Before climbing to the castle, there is time for a relaxed lunch in the historic centre.

Choose your own restaurant and meal, or ask us for recommendations depending on the day.

Lunch is paid directly at the restaurant, so your group can choose exactly what it prefers.

Xàtiva Castle

After lunch, we head up towards the magnificent Xàtiva Castle.

Stretching along the mountain ridge above the town, the fortress is actually formed by two main sections — the Castell Menor and Castell Major — connected by defensive walls, gates, courtyards and pathways.

This is a place designed to be explored slowly.

Walk through centuries of history while enjoying spectacular views across Xàtiva, the surrounding mountains and the Valencian countryside.

There is plenty of time for photographs, exploring the fortifications and simply enjoying the panoramic setting.

Because of the size of the castle and its hillside location, we allow approximately 2–2.5 hours for the visit.

Historic Xàtiva

Depending on the pace of your group, we can also spend some time in Xàtiva’s historic centre before returning to Valencia.

Enjoy a coffee, wander through the old streets or simply relax after exploring the castle.

The itinerary remains private and flexible — there is no large group waiting for you and no need to rush from one stop to another.
