This is the Montanejos everyone comes to see.

Outside the main swimming season, the landscape alone still makes the visit worthwhile.

There’s no need to rush.

Sometimes the best thing to do in Montanejos is simply stop.

Montanejos becomes a completely different experience once you leave the main swimming area.

For active guests, we can organise a hiking version of the day, choosing an appropriate route according to the group’s fitness level, season and current trail conditions.

For those wanting to explore beyond the river, Cueva Negra adds another dimension to the day.

The large natural cavity hidden in the mountains around Montanejos can be incorporated into a hiking route for guests who want something more active than swimming and sightseeing.

This isn’t something we’d automatically include for every visitor.

But if you enjoy walking and exploring natural landscapes, tell us.

🏰 Climb Towards the Castle Ruins

Want the view rather than the swim?

Head higher.

The mountains around Montanejos also hide historic remains and elevated viewpoints that give you a completely different perspective over the surrounding landscape.

For active visitors, a route towards the castle ruins can become one of the highlights of the day.

And the reward is exactly what you want after a climb:

mountains, water and an enormous view beneath you.

This is the side of Montanejos we’d recommend to photographers, hikers and anyone who wants to come back with something more than the standard Fuente de los Baños photograph.

💦 And We’re Not Finished: Salto de la Novia

On the same experience, we’ll also take you to Navajas to discover Salto de la Novia.

Hidden among vegetation beside the Río Palancia, this dramatic waterfall is one of the most beautiful natural stops in the area.
